:: Co-Location - Frequently Asked Questions

How many IP addresses will you provide?

One IP address per server is provided as standard. Additional IP addresses can be assigned, subject to adequate RIPE justification.

What if my server locks/crashes?

All servers are connected to an APC remote reboot box. This enabled you to power cycle your server via your web browser without any intervention from us. If your server still doesn't come up, contact us and we will investigate further and take any action necessary, as per your instructions.

What happens if there is a fault out of hours?

All co-lo clients are given a personal technician's mobile number which is available 24/7 in case of emergencies. Check that any other companies you are considering offer the same and won't leave you stranded until the following morning.

What if we wish to pull out or move to another provider?

Our co-location packages carry no minimum contract term - you can "pull out" at any time. The only fee we will charge is the standard courier fee to return the server to you. Alternatively, you can pick up your server in person from the datacentre.

Can we perform work on the server ourselves, while it is on site?

Clients with their own lockable quarter or full rack are given a PAC key for unaccompanied access 24/7/365. Customers with a single server in a shared rack must be accompanied by on of our engineers at all times, charged at £50/hour exc. VAT. Alternatively, we can perform work on your server on your behalf.

What happens if we exceed our bandwidth allocation?

Standard overusage fee is £1/gigabyte (exc. VAT). We will always endeavour to contact you if this looks likely to occur. You can then purchase an additional 'block' of bandwidth at a reduced rate.

What should we send with our server(s)?

We only require the server itself (adequately packed for transport), spare components if desired and the keys for any lockable front panel or chassis.

Is there a preferential rate for multiple servers or annual payment?

We can often give a substantial reduction in price for multiple servers or annual payments. For further information or a quote, please contact us.
